I successfully installed 10.4.3 on my pata 30 gig HD....now i'm looking for my boot.ini file so i can do the chain0 method of dual booting. only problem is....i can't find that boot.ini file...i was told that it is a hidden system file but when i did a search...i searched for all hidden files as well and no luck...can anyone tell me where it is?

Also, i heard that the realtek alc850 works so I'm wondering how to get it working...i don't have the drivers installed b/c i have my soundblaster x-fi installed...do i just install the drivers in windows and thats it?

HI liverpool03,

the boot.ini file is usually in the root of your primary boot drive e.g. C:\BOOT.INI yes the file is hidden.

In WindowsXP if you right click My Computer the select properties. Select Advanced Tab. On the Tab is a section titled Startup & Recovery select it. Then go to System Startup Options. From here you can edit the Startup Options, file manually click edit. Notepad will open with boot.ini make the necessary changes then save the file click ok a couple of times then you're done. Re-Boot

C:\BOOT.INI

[boot loader]

timeout=30

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS

[operating systems]

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

C:\CHAIN0="Mac OS X x86"

Hope it helps :censored2:
