ouxly40
I turned on invisible files, checked each drive individually( I have 6 drives). I pulled the dc power to every drive except this drive. it always shows something is in it but there is nothing there when I open it. Got me so frustrated I went and got a haircut..... hecker
Download and install Onyx. It has a function to fix that problem. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/136320-trash-shows-full-even-when-empty/#findComment-965526 Share on other sites

hecker
Weird. Try doing it from the console by entering: sudo rm -R /Users/your_user/.Trash/ Type the command EXACTLY as written above (notice the "." before Trash) and replace "your_user" with your user name. You could also try fixing file permissions before executing the command. hecker
If you have more than one volume (disc), you might also try removing the contents of their .Trash folders from the terminal. It could also be a corrupted Fat32 drive, like in this guy's post: http://fredericiana.com/2007/11/01/osx-leo...sh-always-full/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/136320-trash-shows-full-even-when-empty/#findComment-966804 Share on other sites
ouxly40
Thanks for that Hecker! That did it. It was actally a file that osx had put there. Thanks again. Now, if I can figure out why mdworker has been indexing for 2 days, I can call this a perfect install. ouxly40
UPDATE: It finished updating. I had no idea it would take 3 days to index 3.8 TBytes.
