Rybber
Hi. I'm skilled at computers, but an OSx86 newbie Okay, I have been trying in vain to install OSx86 using ideneb 1.3 (and Kalyway 10.5.2 which doesn't even get to the installer). My hardware: Asrock Conroe945G-DVI with Core 2 Duo E6300, 1GB RAM. 1xSATA HDD, 1xPATA DVD-ROM - that's it. All other peripherals are disconnected presently. (Conre945G: onboard GMA950, IHC7) I have searched and searched and searched this board and others, but I only seem to find info about Conroe945G with Tiger - and I want Leopard. This is my install log: - Did a default install with ideneb (no settings selected) - Upon 1st reboot it entered a reboot loop upon Darwin init. - Googled and found out that I should toggle the No Execute BIOS setting. - Booted again, apple logo and spinning status indicator. - A while into the boot - kernel panic - Checked BIOS settings to the best of my knowledge (read: google search) - Reinstalled ideneb, this time choosing the packages/drivers that suited my MB - Kernel panic again. - More install/customization, choosing diferent kernels - Still kernel panics - Updated BIOS to newest 1.90 (from a pretty old 1.10). - Reconfigured BIOS, rebooted, apple logo - kernel panic I tried with Kalyway 10.5.2 but it would halt before even entering the DVD installer. Displays a lot of darwin code. BTW. I tried running Kalyway again after BIOS flash. Got a little further, but it halted again before entering setup. Here's a link to photos of my BIOS settings, and Darwin -v codes when the system stopped: http://picasaweb.google.com/thomasrybak/Os...ey=tJNtz1jSjEc# So here I am.. I know it should be possible to install Leopard onto my hardware, but I'm out of good ideas on how to proceed. Can someone please help me? Rybber
Well, wouldn't you know it, after all this writing I just got iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5 working on my own - NICE I'll leave this post for others with same hardware to learn from. This is how I got it working Used same bios settings as linked to in above post. Make sure to upgrade BIOS to 1.90 Loaded up iDeneb installer, before installing press 'customize' button. Added: - My language file - Sound: ALC-888 - Kernel: Don't select, vanilla 2.5 wil be default - Chipset: ICHx fix - GFX: Intel GMA950 - Fixes: None One omre thing. Before installing i pulled out my PS/2 keyboard. I'm not it's related though.
