My question is, if I format and re-partition my drive for/in mac's install will the recovery option on my desktop be deleted? I have an HP desktop. Thank you for any help. hecker Posted November 13, 2008 Share Posted November 13, 2008 What do you mean by deleted? If you format your drive ALL OF YOUR FILES WILL BE ERASED! So anything that ever was on your Desktop will be erased as well. If you don't really know what you're doing but want to give OS X a try without losing your current operating system, then I strongly suggest you get a second hard drive.
