First I just want to say hello and thank you all for all the useful info.

I'm trying to do a full install on my HP Pavillion DV9000 laptop. I don't remember the exact specs because I'm at work, but before the install attempt I did use the info here and in the wiki to make sure my hardware was good to go.

I'm using the iDeneb install disk, burned with Nero in Windows Vista. The disk works fine, no issues with it loading up and reading everything. My issue comes when I get to where I try to format the hard drive. The disk utility doesn't see any hard drive. It only gives me the option for the DVD in the drive, or to find a network drive.

I'm trying to do a single-boot, nothing fancy. Right now Vista has 2 partitions. One for the OS and one for the backup software. I already burned my recovery disks just in case, so I don't need the other partition. But disk utility doesn't see either partition or give me the option to even select the drive. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
