Ok, so I'm trying to install Jah's version of 10.4.8, after giving up with the ToH 10.5. Now, when I install, I uncheck all of the options, etc., and it restarts, and gives me, if I let the Darwin timer run down, a kernel panic. If, on the other hand, I press f8, it only lets me boot into the installer, although on the startupdisk utility my partition with Tiger exists (unlike when I was attempting Leopard). If I try to boot without the disk, I get the cursor.

So if I try to do the cpus=1 solution on Darwin to fix the kernel error, it doesn't work because it will only go to the installer, but if I try to fix the boot, I get the kernel error.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to solve this?

Sorry, you lost me, not sure what you need to do....

but almost any changes you might need to make can be done from a terminal in the installation environment.

If you know what you need to do, boot from the DVD, mount the installation and make your changes. ;)
