Jabb3r
First off Hi to all. It's my first post so HELLO! I've been trying to get my pavilion laptop to install Leopard, tried both the le04all V3 (not modified) and the iATOKOS 10.5.4 with no luck whatsoever. iATOKOS froze on "Jettisoning kernel linker" I believe and leo4all V3 just scrolls alot of text about loading files then gives some final error I can't catch (not even with pause) and reboots and does this over and over to create a nice little loop. I do have linux, but my command skills are a bit rusty, but I like the idea of having a more established GUI ontop of the unix system to fall back on when things get abit much for my lil ol brain. I have searched the forums but couldn't find anythin definitive to help me with my problems. The hardware in my laptop seems to be a very good candidate for OSX, but I can't find the model or the series on the HCL's I've looked at. So where do I start with my laptop and what special settings/steps (if any) do I have to take (customise options, bios settings etc) to get this intruigin OS onto my beloved Pavilion. Whats the best version out there for me. Is there any guides for the zd8000 series I can follow? Thanks muchly and thanks for the great site. Jabb3r
Well Just thought I'd update you all and tell you I'm now runnin OSX and how I did it in the hope someone might find it useful in the future. So I used leo4all V3 Used mbr in options when partitioning. I used a 1 partition scheme just to get used to things. Customise options were Intel ICHx AC97 Audio I don't remember the kernel version and I've forgot how to check by CLI, but I didn't change it so just leave it. Thats it. Install! I rebooted after installation to find a mac system will fully finctioning sound and wireless connectivity. I'm just going through the steps to set my graphics up (mobility x600) but that should hopefully get you a desktop at least Hope it helps Cheers! (Lovin the OS btw, very sleek and functional) Might have to be a mac system next, hehe Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135585-hp-pavilion-zd8044ea/#findComment-961617 Share on other sites
