Mac experts,

I need your help.

I have the following problem.

I have an old PM G5 Tiger 500GB hard drive that would not mount nor can be repaired by disk utilities (Leopard Disk Utility or Disk Warrior).   I bought a new 500GB HD and installed Leopard on it.   The old Tiger HD showed the following on Leopard Disk Utility (First Aid failed):

Verifying volume "PM G5 hd"

Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume

Invalid record count.

Checking Extents Overflow file.

Checking Catalog file.

Invalid record count

Invalid record count

Invalid record count

Volume check failed.

Error: Filesystem verify or repair failed.

I wanted to recover my files from the old Tiger HD and transfer to the new Leopard hard drive.  What are my options?

Please advise and kindly spellout stepwise on how to recover or backup the contents of this old hard drive before it finally die.

Thanks.
