Damocles
Hi all, I managed to get and install Kalyway's 10.5.2 release, and for the most part it's working very well - it installed second time after a glitch, I have sound, network, USB, firewire and access to applications, which is more that I had on JaS's old 10.4.6 version I tried a year or so ago (sorry, JaS, it just didn't work). My issue is with my graphics adapter - it's the Intel 865G. My Radeon 9800XT's failed, so I had to switch to the integrated. The net result is that, while I have a working full-colour display, I cannot get any higher resolutions than 1024x768, let alone QE or CI. Now, I've read some old guides on modifying and sudo-ing the Intel 830 kexts etc. then i read at the end of the guide that this was for Tiger only, so I've been going in circles for nothing, as surprise surprise, none of them worked. However, I did read that you can use the GMA915 drivers, but I have no idea where to start (I installed the GMA950 drivers with the OS, but deleted them in the process of installing the 830...) Can anyone give me a breakdown of the steps required to install the graphics adapter? I'm really close to having a fully working Macintel. Any help appreciated!
