Hey guys.

Here's my configuration:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 2200MHz (11 x 200)

Motherboard: Intel Isleton D946GZIS

Chip set : Intel Broadwater i946GZ

BIOS: Intel (09/11/06)

Video Card: Nvidia geforce 7300gt (256mb)

Sound Card: SigmaTel STAC9227 @ Intel 82801GB ICH7 - High Definition Audio Controller [A-1]

RAM: 1024mb (ddr2)

That's the info i get from everest.

I hope that's enough if there's something i have missed please correct me.

So what release i should choose for my configuration and will be there problems with drivers for the LAN card (using pppoe) sound card and video card.

Thank you.

My personal preference is the Kalyway distribution, you can get 10.5.2 from the "usual places". Burn the ISO to disc and boot, follow the prompts and see how far you get.

There is a ton of info. on the these forums, just need to practice with the search feature, if you still can't find the answer then find the most appropriate sub-forum and ask (politely!).

Thanks I'll try.

Boy,

Not much good news:

Boy, if you are really keen with the idea of running OSX GET A MAC. Just kidding :-) Unfortunately your motherboard makes up most of the hardware that needs to be supported, which from the above post I am confident isn't. If it was me I would be looking at a motherboard replacement, you can always Ebay your current one. I would take a visit to the HCL pages on the Wiki of this fantastic site and you will see many boards which have been tried and tested by fellow users.

I currently have a fully working Hackintosh which I use as my full time OS and love. I first dabbled with installing the famous Deadmoo Tiger VMware image over a year ago - which installed but nothing ran. While I admit finance was a restraint for a while, I did spend a hell of a lot of time researching the hardware that I need to build such a machine. It can be quite tedious trawling through the HCL lists deciding on one that you think of trying then finding out if its still current and you can get the thing. I also did a lot of research on the installation process and read a lot of articles on here about other peoples issues. You have a goldmine of information available on just this site alone. Some of it is nonsense, some of it is extremely helpful. It's not so much a case of will my hardware work, its more of OK this is what OSX needs, how close to that can I achieve? In summary I'd say stop in your tracks and as is this something I really want to do? If yes then invest in a new motherboard after some serious research. As for Distros, go for iDeneb 10.5.5 Waffle over.
