So i've been trying KEXT's like crazy for my sound card... and I found one that worked many moons ago on my computer back when it was 10.5.2 Kalyway... It didn't work again tho.

So I'm wondering if I've just fubar'd my sound drivers because I've been trying soooo many different ones. Is that possible? If so... how can fix it to get back at a "clean slate" and install fresh kext's??

Delete the audio kexts from your extensions folder (System>Library>Extensions) and when you restart, use the -f command at the CLI prompt to force re-build the the cache. When you try to remove the kexts from the extensions folder you'll get a dialog with an option to authenticate and you'll need to put your password in to do so.

The kexts you need to remove will be the ones you've added over time, related to HDA (High Definition Audio I believe), and anything specific to the drivers you've attempted to install (eg, ALCInject, HDAEnabler etc).

It might be a good idea to delete each kext install you have done each time you're sure that it's failed, so that you know that you're actually replacing everything you think you are.

Did you get my PM with the link?

Good luck.
