jeofredo
So I've recently built a Hackintosh on the Gigabyte EP45t-DS3R motherboard w/ an e8500 wolfdale core 2 duo. When I first built the computer, I put in two gigabytes of OCZ DDR3 RAM, which worked fine. Yesterday, I got another two gigs of exactly the same RAM in from amazon but when I installed, I started getting memory issues like crazy- memtestx86 from my ubuntu install was picking up errors within 10 seconds of starting the test. So I swapped out each of the new sticks with one of the old sticks, which I know is good, and they both worked fine- no errors on memtestx86 over 5-8 hours. I put in all four sticks again and for some reason, the problem got a little better (maybe it needed reseating?)- it takes much longer for memtestx86 to find errors, but they always eventually show up. I've tried relaxing the latencies from 8-8-8-24 to 10-10-10-26 and changed the command timing from T0 to T1/2 (neither worked any better than 0)- does anyone have any tips about this? For now, I've taken out the new sticks and I'm running rock solid on the original RAM. FYI, the voltage for the memory is set to 1.9 V and this http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memo...ops_urban_elite is the manufacturer page for the RAM. Thanks for any help! Update: Now even two sticks are failing. I can get stability if I use a memory configuration that doesn't allow for dual channel. Any ideas out there, or am I destined to by RMAing my motherboard?
