Dell Inspiron 9300 trouble

Hey guys... I'm a noob to this, but couldn't stand windows on my dell so I'm giving this a shot.... I got Uphuck 10.4.9 installed and working onto the POS Dell (tried Kalyway and Jas, both were bad discs, i think). Im still working on getting all of the kexts and stuff installed... The one that I'm having trouble with is the display... when scrolling down in the web and stuff it's all choppy... looks terrible... but I know that there are many people that have had success installing the nVidia 6800 Go chipset... I can't seem to get it though... I'm new to this whole deal, the coding through the terminal and sudo nano... I've tried it many times and when I do input the sudo nano + whatever, I get the editor open, but no code to edit... So the file/kexts is probably not in the folder... so what I need is major help... step by step instructions... I've searched and tried many different methods and all haven't worked for me... I tried installing TITAN from my original install and it gave me a really crappy image... I tried using the nvidia kernal that Uphuck has and was missing my cd drive on the install... It's really frustrating, but if anyone could please help me with some step by step instructions I would love that.... Thanks guys, and I really appreciate it....
