aliasa_anderson Posted November 6, 2008 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Hi People, I own a HP laptop dv6114tx laptop and want to use the firewire port. the details are as follows: FireWire (IEEE 1394): Ricoh Co Ltd R5C832 IEEE 1394 Controller (prog-if 10 [OHCI]) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Unknown device 30bb Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- Latency: 64 (500ns min, 1000ns max) Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 16 Region 0: Memory at de000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) Capabilities: <access denied> the lspci hex dump is : 00: 80 11 32 08 06 00 10 02 00 10 00 0c 00 40 80 00 10: 00 00 00 de 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 20: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 3c 10 bb 30 30: 00 00 00 00 dc 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 0b 01 02 04 ================================================================== This device is connected on the following interface : 00:1e.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge [8086:2448] (rev e2) in the follwing manner : -[0000:00]-+-00.0 +-01.0-[0000:01]----00.0 +-1b.0 +-1c.0-[0000:02]----00.0 +-1c.1-[0000:03-04]-- +-1c.2-[0000:05-06]----00.0 +-1d.0 +-1d.1 +-1d.2 +-1d.3 +-1d.7 +-1e.0-[0000:07]--+-05.0 | +-05.1 | +-05.2 | +-05.3 | \-05.4 +-1f.0 +-1f.1 +-1f.2 \-1f.3 i.e-7.5.0 ,5.1,5.2,5.3 and 5.4 are on the same link,connected to 1e.0 bus 07:05.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394) [0c00]: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C832 IEEE 1394 Controller [1180:0832] 07:05.1 SD Host controller [0805]: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host Adapter [1180:0822] (rev 19) 07:05.2 System peripheral [0880]: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C843 MMC Host Controller [1180:0843] (rev 0a) 07:05.3 System peripheral [0880]: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C592 Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter [1180:0592] (rev 05) 07:05.4 System peripheral [0880]: Ricoh Co Ltd xD-Picture Card Controller [1180:0852] (rev ff) I guess most of the hp laptops use these chips and configuration.So this maybe helpful to a lot of people with hp laptops. As you can see the internal card reader is also connected on the same bus,so it may also help in getting the card reader to work. This site left justifies the text so please refer to the attached file for the hardware conf. the file contains output of lspci with -v,-vvv,-xxxx,t etc using ubuntu 8.04 live cd. The complete details/datasheet for this Ricoh chip is here: http://www.aeneas.com.cn/PDF/Ricoh/2005/R5...1%5B1%5D.00.pdf Please help.
