orionsune
Edit - The onboard NIC was not interfering with a second PCI NIC. As soon as I put my Intel Pro 1000/MT in after modifying the kext for the device/vendor id, the network properties worked fine. orionsune
I managed to get the Intel Pro 1000 working. I am able to ping all the PCs on my network. I am even able to ssh into my linux boxes. As soon as I open up Safari and it downloads a portion of the webpage, the system crashes and presents me with the grey screen asking me to reboot. Anyone experience this that can offer some insight? orionsune
I am beginning to suspect the card is just bad. I haven't tried it in a Windows or Linux box yet, instead i'm just going to do what everyone else does, waste a few bux and buy another card that is proven true to work. Best Buy's generic brand "Dynex" is really just a Realtek 8139 for $17.99USD. If I were to be patient, Ebay has them ranging from $5-$20USD after shipping. I am very disappointed in our local PC store, they do not carry a single NIC that works with osx86. Normally I stay away from the Mainstream stores like Best Buy, Compusa, since I feel they have plenty of money from all the retards and ignorant falling for the jacked up prices and actually believe they are getting a deal. I feel like i'm committing blasphemy. At least i'm not looking at WalMart huh... I love it when I make topics where my posts are the only content. Makes me look like a dork, just the image I like. orionsune
The Intel card was bad, the newly purchased Realtek 8139 works perfectly.
