hey guys,

can anyone help?

i tried to install the tiger-x86-flat.img onto my SATA harddrive. i have two sata harddrives installed, one was running windows, the other one i just formatted with NTSC (the whole disk).

i copied the image onto the other SATA and removed the windows SATA. it won't boot, just hangs at the apple w/ the spinning wheel and, later on, a "picture not found" thing.

thanks,

simon

I have the same board, you need to disable sound, and if your using the GMA950 don't have any gfx card in the pci-e port, even if its disabled in the bios, os x won't boot.

Also use -v to boot verbose mode, gives you a better idea of whats wrong.

dear declan

i did the -v, now it always said: waiting for root device

now i disabled audio, still the same problem

no pci cards are connected.

do you think it's a sata problem?

should i use a different installation method, like using a different image?

thanks

simon

I had this same problem, for me, it was that Mac OS X did not recognize the IDE Channel with my DVD-ROM drive, so I installed the OS with an external USB DVD drive and it worked perfectly. Even now though, with OS X installed the OS still doesnt recognize my internal drive.... weird.
