EviL AleX
Hey Everyone! As the title already shows, I'm the happy owner of the following setup: OSX86 iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5 (MBR) CPU: 2X Xeon Irwindale (3Ghz) Chipset: Intel Canterwood i875P --> IDE Controller: Intel 6300ESB Ultra ATA Storage Controller (25A2) GPU: SAPPHIRE HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 AGP (I may be listing too much in relation to the problem, but better too much info than too little) And my HDD speeds are worthy of crying over... (2MB/s, tops!) Right now OSX boots up using: 35 3 0x2ba93000 0xd000 0xc000 com.apple.iokit.IOATAFamily (1.7.3f1) <6 5 4 2> 36 0 0x2bb25000 0x6000 0x5000 com.apple.driver.AppleGenericPCATA (1.3) <35 17 12> 47 0 0x2c1dc000 0x4000 0x3000 com.apple.iokit.IOATAPIProtocolTransport (1.5.2) <46 35 12> 49 0 0x2c31a000 0xe000 0xd000 com.apple.iokit.IOATABlockStorage (2.0.0) <40 35 6 5 4 2> During iDeneb 1.3 install I installed all chipsets, except for Nforce ones. I've tried several solutions, to no avail. Speeds either stay low or I get the "still waiting for root device" error. I've got a cloned partition of my working setup, so I can repair anything I f*ck up quite fast. But I have no idea how to improve my drive speeds. Anybody? ----------------------------- Fix: Modify Info.plist of AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext (inside IOATAFamily.kext) by adding 25A2 (or replacing) <string>ICH5 ATA/100</string> <key>IOClass</key> <string>AppleIntelPIIXATARoot</string> <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0xXXXX8086</string> Just below this is the configuration for SATA, where you need to add 25A3 to get your SATA disks recognised. I've attached the modified kexts. NCCH_DL_ICH5.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/134721-asus-ncch-dl-slow-drives-fixed-ich5/ Share on other sites
