Hi All

I have been trying to install Mac OS X leopard on my Acer aspire 5520 notebook so far all I have is a headache :D

Acer Aspire 5520 - Model ICW50

Athlon 64x2 Dual Core CPU

*** 160GB Hitachi SATA HDD ***

MEM 2GB

Mac OS X Leopard Ver. 10.5.1

I can reach the GUI install part no problem (some errors) after booting from the DVD install media but Leopard fails to detect the SATA HDD device. I have searched the forums for tutorials etc and haven’t been able to find anything that will help me get the SATA HDD working.

I have several SATA kext files but am unable to inject them into the install disk as I am stuck with M$ Vista.

I am familiar with BSD type operating systems and CLI, but a first time Mac OS X user.

I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone can give me or links to tutorials posts etc on this or other sites.

If this message has been posted to the incorrect part of this site please feel free to Stab Stomp Punch Demoralise or Flame me into Microsoft oblivion.

Did you try other osX distro's? Cause sometime one distro supports your hardware and another doesn't.

Besides that, did you try switching AHCI mode in your BIOS?

Search the forums for a fix, there really are more than enough threads about 'hard drive doesn't show up' and stuff..
