Hiho,

I have a Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 and can't get sound working properly. Sometimes (depending on driver used) it works perfect for about an hour or so, then it starts to double the sound + echos and crashs the application in use.

Other drivers have noise when audio playback starts, some send noises via microphone when I use TS.

I tried many drivers but none of them where working. For me it is dificult to chose the right driver. Is there anyone who can help me.

- board is described on Gigabytes homepage with ALC 883 sound

- in users manual it is ALC 888

- when I google the ID 0x1458A002 it is identified as sometimes ALC 889a and sometimes ALC 885.

My System:

Kalyway 10.5.2 updated to 10.5.5 via Zephyroths updater (10.5.2 > 10.5.3 > 10.5.4 > 10.5.5)

Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4

AMD X2 6000+

2x 1 GB A-DATA 800 RAM

Leadtek 9800 GT

1 Hitachi 260 GB ATA Drive for Windows XP

1 Samsung 260 S-ATA Drive for OSX
