sphinx
hi, i installed 10.4.5 on a sony vaio vgn-fs series laptop. install went ahead smoothly and rebooted into the shiny new tiger ... everything went fine and i installed a few apps like stuffit, yahoo messenger, etc, nothing complicated. then i rebooted and ever since then, as soon as the OS starts, only the dock is stable and not crashing. the Finder application crashes and restarts constantly. any application i run off the dock crashes along with the Finder. I am also unable to logout/restart/shutdown. i have shutdown my laptop by pressing down the power key for 10 seconds. could anyone please tell me what the problem could be? thanks, sphinx. koshomat
I got exactly the same Problem... Have you or anybody else who has experienced such problems found a solution? I think it has to do something with playing sounds because after 20-30 crashes finder often is stable for a few seconds and then when anything tries to play a sound the constant restarting starts again. Would it be helpful if I post a crash report? Iknow where and how to get them but I myself did not find them helpful however this might be because i have not enough knowledge Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13390-finder-crashes-on-boot/#findComment-104890 Share on other sites
