MeleeTrey
Hi everyone, i have a compaq presario c500 in which i have 2 gigs of ram and a new 180 gig HDD. My old HDD got ruined in a drop, so i had to get a new one. Unfortunately i had not backed anything up, and this left me OS-less. Currently i have xp installed with almost no drivers, and have already been through the wringer with that setup. I have been making a fair attempt to install OSx86 over the past few days, to no avail. It is completely possible that i am just messing up something stupid or leaving something out, but i'm not sure if there is a problem with my disk drive or something else. I have downloaded the leo4allv3 torrent, and i unrarred all of the .rar packages into a single .iso with winrar. I then used ppf-o-matic to adhere the patch to the .iso file. Next, i brought said .iso into UltraISO and wrote it to a 4.7gig dvd+r at 2.4x. Successful burn. With SATA native support on, xp will not boot, and i'm not sure whether or not to turn it on for this install. My ATAPI cd/dvd ROM drive is set to boot first, follwed by my HDD. At startup with the dvd in, it always ends up booting xp... but if i open the disk in xp, it shows that the .iso is on the disk. It would be very appreciated if someone could help me, and not tell me to search. I have been searching for three days straight, and my brain is starting to sizzle a little bit. It kind of hurts.
