centic
My install seems to hit an invisible limit at about 3.87GB of RAM, while I have 16GB installed (4x4GB) See here: I'm running 10.5.5 installed from retail using the vanilla kernel. I followed the first set of steps in this guide: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=86167 Anyone have any advice on how to fix this? adamsweeting
Errrrmmmm.... the screenshot you have supplied is showing 12Gb free. So OS X is seeing it fine, it's just not loaded with anything! 3.87Gb is being used, the rest (12.11Gb) is ready and waiting for other apps etc. to be loaded into the RAM. tomazzzi
To test your ram just try to compress or expand a +4gb ISO with unrarX or stuffit it should easly go over the 4gb usage Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/133587-osx-wont-use-more-than-4gb-of-ram/#findComment-946755 Share on other sites
