madwh Posted October 27, 2008 Share Posted October 27, 2008 Leopard was working fine, everything was perfect but now I upgraded my video card from ati X1900XT to geforce 9800GTX and it won't boot. In -v mode it says nvidia unknown or something like that and if I boot normally, the with screen with the spinning wheel, it just freezes after a while and it shows the gray screen that says to reboot. How could I disable any graphics or video drivers? I just want to boot in the most basic mode and install the proper drivers. Any ideas? LouCioccio Posted October 27, 2008 Share Posted October 27, 2008 Try rebooting. -v -x -f this should get you in safe mode. I am at work. You may have an app that will write to the bootlist about the new card. It is most likely a drive issue. madwh Posted October 27, 2008 Author Share Posted October 27, 2008 I found some old drivers for geforce 9800gtx on this forum somehere so I put the old video card into my computer and I booted up in leopard and installed them. Put 9800gtx back in and now in boots but I can't get them to work very well, menu is not translucent etc not fully installed. Does anyone know what are the newst drivers for this?
