Panarchy
Hello After updating to 10.5.5 from 10.5.4, I can no longer boot I used this guide: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=109102 And I did run the pre update thing and the post update thing before restarting. Some help here please... I don't get kernel panic, it is just one the roller thing (under the apple logo) aka the bootscreen, and the thing is spinning like normal (but doesn't boot up). Left it running for about 4 hours, to no avail. Please help me in getting it to work again. Thanks in advance, Panarchy PS: From the post update installer I chose the following; kernel-9.5.0 vanilla chipset- ichx ahci audio-restore network-restore system-smbios: mac pro, unchecked acpi (it said Apple in front of it if I remember correctly) PPS: Oh, when I did restart, it couldn't restart properly, got kernel panic. UPDATE; After being recommended to run it with -v, I did. So here is the last 4 lines; [JMicronATA] PIO mode 4 @ 120 ns [JMicronATA] Ultra mode 5 Extension "com.microsoft.driver.MicrosoftKeyboardUSB" has no explicit kernel dependency; using version 6.0. ERROR: FireWire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full secure. If you want his help read the entire topic...ALL of the posts because the answers will most likely already be there. I have personally used his method very successfully but only after doing what I have told you.....
