DSP8000
Hi guys, After a very good install on Compaq c774tu I decided to give it a go on a spare PC at home, but so far no go at all. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. Here are the specs: CPU: Pentium 4 3.06 OC'ed to 3.20 - 775/SSE/SSE2 Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-8I915P Dual Graphics /ICH6R/775/Firewire/HDAudio GPU: nViDiA GeForce PCI-E 6600 /128MB RAM: 2x1GB DDR2/667 HDD: Seagate SATA 160GB I've tried almost all options on the DVD but no go. 1st go 9.4.0 kernel stops after install. I'm not selecting any Intel ICHxx drivers, selected just nvinject for nvidia 128mb, then kernel 9.2.0 sleep/speedstep, same thing, no go. Do I have to select the patch for AppleSMbios fix for DDR667 only or Applesmbios iMac or mac pro? Tried -s, -v and -x mode... -x mode only works with kernel 9.2.0 up until you select do not transfer any information from any mac, then just stops and sits there. I would like to get this going if possible. If anyone has similar experience with similar specs please advise on customize settings. Tnx. for any help upfront. Cheers, DSP8000
DSP8000
Anyone guys? I did some reading and there are some posts about similar if not the same issues with this release. If there's no fix then I'd wait for the new XxX release because as far as I can understand I can't run vanila kernel on Intel SSE/SSE2. Any other suggestions for maybe different releases would be great. Tnx. DSP8000
Oskakrum
Any other suggestions for maybe different releases would be great. This motherboard is far too old for success with hackintosh, any distribution... Get a new one - for example Gigabyte GA-945GCM-S2L (LGA 775, DDRII 667, PCI-EXPRESS, Intel i945) - it costs pennies and almost all runs out of box with any distro. You can put your P4 on it. And may be memory too. Just use SATA DVD to start. Good Luck.
