laatmaarzien
Hello all! I used the DVD to install the osx86 10.4.4 on my Dell Inspiron 8200. The installation went perfect, and the subsequent installations without hassles. The sound works out the box, couldn't be happier about that. The Problem is that I am unable to start my Ethernet card 3Com 3c920 even though it is on the HCL. It is not loaded on system start, with the error message "Link/Load error" But the funny fact is that the KEXT file referred to, is the 3C90X. In the Network Tab in the profiler, I have the Built-in Ethernet showing, with id en0. But that is all, no IP or any other method shows. I had selected DHCP when I configured the system at the first boot. However using network diagnostics, the Built-in Ethernet is not detected. In addition, the Hardware tab on the System profiler is empty with the message "There was an error while gathering this information". I am at my wits end here... can anyone please help me? Sys Conf: Dell Inspiron 8200, Pentium 4m 2.0 Ghz, 640 MB RAM, 10 GB for the MacOS drive etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13243-osx86-1044-on-my-dell-inspy-8200-3c920-woes/ Share on other sites
jonl
I know this is an old post, but I have a very similar situation. Did you ever resolve the problem and if so, how? Here is a link to my post that shares the situation's similarities: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=48417 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13243-osx86-1044-on-my-dell-inspy-8200-3c920-woes/#findComment-346950 Share on other sites
