My set up is Asus M2N MX SE Plus motherboard Athlon 64 CPU Leo4all v3 - 10.5.2 I see firewire bus within the system profiler. I can not get my firewire sound card to work, but have no other devices to test. Is it possible using a standard firewire cable to connect to another computer to test a working firewire link in anyway? I have connected from my osx machine to this windows pc and it comes up with the hardware wizard for device "Unknown" and is unable to find any drivers, and this maybe indicates to me that firewire is not up and running properly on the osx machine as the windows machine can not determine what it is connected to? The OSX machine, within the network utility just says network interface fw0 has a link status "inactive" Any other tests I can do between two machines to establish a working link such as how to install etc? Finally and last chance saloon chance.
