I have an Asus A8V-X MB with AMD 64 processor, 1 gig ram, two IDE DVD-RW drives. For this test I am using a Maxtor 541DX 20g HD also IDE. I am installing Mac OS 10.4.5. The installation completes just fine - But the install does not detect my built in Via Rhine II Fast Ethernet adapter or my built in SATA Controller (not as big a deal but would be nice if it worked). I tried using the MAC network controller driver that came on the MB install CD. Either I didn't do the install procedure correctly or the driver doesn't work with this OS. In desperation I installed a 3COM 3C905C-TX FastEthernet 10/100 PCI Card, which is listed in the HCL that I found on this site. I formatted the HD and did the install again - No Joy.
