When I first boot this is detected under USB 2.0 but does not show up any drive infomation but if I unplug the device while the os is running and plug into another port it becomes functional

I have tried replacing the IOUSBFamily.kext from 10.4.3 and also the IOUSBMassStorage.kext as well but makes little difference

 

Any Idea how I can have the removeable storage reconised while the drive is in USB2.0 mode??
