Installing a Broadcom BCM4311 on an HP dv5000 series ...

I was curious to find out if anyone knew whether the BCM4311 Mini PCI-E card is listed on the whitelist of the HP dv5000 series BIOS? My current notebook is a HP Pavilion dv5250ca with BIOS version f.24, and Intel 3945ABG wifi card. I'm well aware that the 3945 is pretty much dead in the water with regards to any OSx86 release, so I'm thinking of installing a new wireless card, since I still have some USB issues with iATKOS I haven't sorted out (preventing me from using a wifi dongle).

I know that other HP models use Broadcom cards as their factory-made wireless. So, does anyone know if you can plug in a Broadcom 4311 to the 5250ca without getting the 104 error and having to mess around with the BIOS? Barring that, does anyone know of any Mini PCI-E cards from this list:

That overlap, compatibility-wise, with the dv5000 series and f.24 BIOS?

Thanks.

EDIT: Dongle works now, but I'd still like to know if it is possible.

bump for this thread.

i am in the same exact position, except i have a dv2000t CTO. as long as i know the bcm4311 card isn't blacklisted i'd like to give it a try.

i believe the broadcom card came in a variant of the NX series from HP.

could anyone help on this topic?
