reijimitsurgi
I recently upgraded from 10.5.4 to 10.5.5. I was stupid and forgot to check for special instructions online, and now I get kernel panics upon boot. I've used some LiveCDs to try to get AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext off of the drive, but to no avail. Under normal circumsrances, i would use the boot disc, but it's lost. Is there any way I can remove the .kext without downloading iAtkos again? MacNutty
At the boot prompt use -s option to boot into single user mode. Once at the prompt use the following command: rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext Once done Reboot and again at boot prompt use -f option to boot so that it will update its extension cache. That all. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/131417-upgrade-to-1055-kernel-panic-upon-startup/#findComment-932306 Share on other sites
jdand
Hi, I'm planning to update from 10.5.2 Kalyway installed MacOS to 10.5.5 with a Gigabyte EP45-DS4. I was told that I can use the built-in software updater, only need to use IntelCPUPMDisabler.kext before it. My question is, that after a successful update (I hope ) can I remove this kext, so the CPU Power Management will be back, or have I keep it installed, and forget about the power management feature? Thank you! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/131417-upgrade-to-1055-kernel-panic-upon-startup/#findComment-935509 Share on other sites
