BartNijland
Hi all, I have a great running hackintosh right now, but I've still got 2 problems. First, my AMD 6000+ only runs stable when I run it with cpus=1. When both cores are active I get all kinds of problems like a mouse that isn't acurate and video freezes. What could this be, or am I stuck with 1 core (not that is a very big problem). Second, I have 4GB of DDR800 ram. But with 4GB my system just randomly freezes. With 2GB it doesn't. Any fix or known problems for this? Thanks a lot
tomnic
Try the 9.4 XNU kernel, it works fine with both cores for me, then with 4 gigs of ram set 2T in bios ram timing page, usually it's the latest setting, possible values are only 1T or 2T... that should work, if it doesn't try to raise the other timings items till u find a stable configuration. Populating all the 4 slots of ram makes the system stable only by raising timings. Give it a try, so for me it's a bios issue, otherwise try to limit the available ram to 3 Gigs in mac os... search in the forum how to do this, it's a flag you've to give when booting osx. BartNijland
Thanks for you reply. But when I install this XNU9.40 but in the system profiler it still says: Kernel Version: Darwin 9.4.0 Does this mean it didn't install correctly? Nick14
Try Voodoo kernel it's the best kernel or amd and should fix all your problem
BartNijland
Tried the Vodoo Kernel but still the same problems. The most annoying one is the mouse that just switches positions on the screen randomly. Never heard of this problem before? It's fixed with cpus=1.
