J Wallace
Hi guys, First of all let me thank everyone here - I've used lots of advice from this site to get this far! Anyway - created a 2nd partition on my Laptop HD, installed OSX 10.4.4 through VMWare with no problems. For some reason, I can't run the actual OS through VMWare (no OS, floppy or Bootable CD detected) but changing the Active Partition (with Partition Magic) lets me boot the computer into OSX... Almost. The screen is lovely, properly sized and colorful, happy new age music plays, my Synaptics touchpad works perfectly but the machine won't finish loading. It stops at a screen saying "Before you begin... There is no ketboard attached to your computer. Please connect your keyboard." It doesn't stall or hang, as I mentioned, music plays and the touch-pad is responsive. I don't possess a USB keyboard (and I'm hoping there's a more elegant, laptop-friendly solution), so my options are very limited. Loading up XP again and booting the install disk through VMWare (where, coincidentally my keyboard works just fine!) gives me access to the Terminal, but that's really the only way I can manipulate the installation. Please help - I think I'm really close, and I'm at my wits end!
