Raghav
Waiting For root device Hi!! My pc has the following Config: Intel Core 2 quad 6600 Intel Dg33FB motherboard 4 gb ram Seagate 500 gb internal Sata HD Seagate Freeagent Desk 500 gb external HD Nvidia 8600 GT.. LG IDE Dvd-rw drive I have three partitions In Hd.. One has Win XP installed and other has Vista x64 installed... My cousin Downloaded Mac Osx86 10.5.1 and it worked for him.. I thought i'll try it and borrwoed the disc from him Whenver i try installing... It shows the apple symbol with no smoking symbol and when i try running in verbose mode it shows a firewire error and then "still waiting for root device" My Drive config in bios is in SATA as AHCI Mode and SMART enabled.. I tried playing with em(changing to ide mode) but no luck... Tried running setup with various commads like -v -x -s -f rd=disk0 but no luck... My Sata controller is Intel ich9... I even tried installing it to my external hd using rd=disk1 command but does'nt work.. Also tried running setup in VMWARE in vista x64 but it shows the same error.... Is this error because my dvd is IDE and Harddisk is SATA???? It would be nice if anyone could help

One trick is to check if the MD5 cheksum for your downloaded DVD is correct. Anyway, I've got the same problem while installing iatkos V4. I 've got it because my Iso was not downloaded properly. (some missing or corrupted files inside the Iso file)
