osx86 on Sony Vaio MediaCenter PC

Hey all, my very first post here.

 

Okay I have installed osx86 on my vaio mediapc, below is a list of what worked out of the box.

 

1. VGA Video 1024x768x32, no QE or Core.

2. Network Card Intel buildin

3. Windows dual booting, with some issues because I have too many harddrives.

4. Firewire drivers

5. USB drivers working as far as I can tell

 

Current issues.

 

No sound creative audigy pro

-Does not even recognizes my card being there under System Profiler, still investigating this problem.

 

 

Limited Dual Booting with windows

-I have 3 Harddrives, all of them with windows on it, so I resized one of them and created a new partition for osx86, which is NOT in the beginning of my harddrive.

I can boot on osx86 as long I boot from the DVD drive and do push any keys and let the install timer run out then it will load osx86 from the harddrive, the downside to that is that I cannot pass any options to the boot loader because then it will boot from the DVD instead of the HD, if I want windows then I just boot from the hd and windows will load, by the way the partition is active on the osx86 partition and bios is set correctly.

 

 

ATI Radeon 850XT PRO

-Added the hardware id's into the Info.plist file of ATIRadeon9700.kext and I have QE and Core support and I can't change the resolution via the preferences, have to use the boot.plist file.

 

 

Anyone has been able to get audigy sound card working? I must find a way to fix this because I want sound out of this awesome system.

 

 

Also I was able to install and run several applications for a test.

 

Installed and ran:

 

Adobe Creative Suite Premium - Every application works great

Apple Aperture - I didn't think this app would work but it does, however is not really faster than my G5, just a

few things are.

Ilife 06 - Everything works great

Toast Titanium - OK

Iwork - OK

 

Apple Motion 1.0.1 -NOT OK- Does not work properly, starts and as soon as I open any files or make new ones it crashes
