shdwsclan
I installed Jas on my laptop before, but now, I am totally confused. I have installed this 3-4 only to have it either lockup on boot to not boot at all, am I doing something wrong, forgetting to check and item. These things come with no documentation what-so-ever, and with this new release, there is no pre-install documentation in the diaglogue boxes. I am listing both my LSPCI and my LSUSB below. BlueTooth - Broadcom Bluetooth (On the usb bus) (Works out of the box in all version I have tested, since the first mac port) Infrared - IBM Infrared (never worked) Secrurity - TPM Chip (I keep it disabled since it interferes with mac booting, useless in mac, causes kernel panic) Keyboard - PS2 Keyboard (Synaptics ?) (dead in 10.5.4, but works 10.5.1) Keyboard - PS2 Trackpoint (Synaptics ?) (dead in 10.5.4, but works 10.5.1) Keyboard - PS2 Touchpad (Synaptics ?) (dead in 10.5.4, but works 10.5.1) Display - Screen ? (Unknown, but its the widescreen 1680 x 1050 ) Firewire - Firewire IEEE1994 (Probably TI) (supposedly works out of box) Sound - SoundMax Sound Chipset <--------------- (This is not clear from the LSPCI because this is on that Intel HDAUDIO Modem/Sound Bus which freaks out some version of windows) (never worked) Ethernet - Broadcom 5752 Nextreme Ethernet Adapter (Unknown) Modem - Coexant Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP <--------------- (This is not clear from the LSPCI because this is on that Intel HDAUDIO Modem/Sound Bus which freaks out some version of windows) (Unknown) CDROM - Panasonic DVD+-RW DL (Matsu{censored}a) UJ-850 (works) WebCam - USB2.0 WebCam - Chicony/Sonix (It is erroneously reported as a Microdia, and this has been made into a bug case number for the linux kernel that should be fixed in the near future) (supposedly works with Sonix drivers and UVC) Fingerprint Reader - UpeK / Thompson (supposedly works with upeK drivers) Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo with 4mb cache @ 2.00 ghz [T7200/T7250/T7300 (Whatever the microcode update say, its essentially the same thing)] (works) RAM - [unknown Brand] 1.5 GB Ram (detected, obviosly) Hard Drive - Hitachi SATA 100 GB @ 7200 rpm (works, obviously, on ata compatibility mode) Expresscard/CardBus Controller - TI PCIxx12 (unknown) Memory Card Reader Controller -Texas Instruments 5-in-1 Multimedia Card Reader (unknown) WIFI - AR5212 / AR5006EXS - Atheros A/B/G wifi (works with hack) ACPI - Whatever is in the IBM ACPI, like the thinklight (never got this to work, basically was detected as mac pro) HDAPS - The Hard Drive Accelerometer which are also present in the macbook pro (never worked) Dock - I have a minidock that will break mac osx I have also tried installing it with nothing selected....and it still crashes/halts What exactly do I select in the menu, do i have to select a bios...etc ? thanks in advanced (I can post the menu choices if need be)
