slowdiver
as far as i can see, the official hacked 10.4.5 version does not include the new delivered kexts. anyone got: 1) any kext 2) new drivers for the gma900 (frontrow does include new 950 drivers, but are there new GMA 900 drivers?) 3) the applehda.kext to work? another question: since 10.4.4. some audio-things have changed, azalia-audio is not included anymore. 4) anyone got more than 2-channel sound *without* any usb-plug or something - just with an onboard sound? 5) does someone have a new, explicit 10.4.4/5 solution for the alc-audiochips (mine is a alc880) 6) any broadcom 5751 news? never got it to work ------------- shuttle xp81p everything works, except broadcom 5751 (d-link g122 instead, working without the replug problem) and ati remote wonder Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12941-1045-kexts/ Share on other sites
Derek L
as far as i can see, the official hacked 10.4.5 version does not include the new delivered kexts. anyone got: 1) any kext 2) new drivers for the gma900 (frontrow does include new 950 drivers, but are there new GMA 900 drivers?) 3) the applehda.kext to work? another question: since 10.4.4. some audio-things have changed, azalia-audio is not included anymore. 4) anyone got more than 2-channel sound *without* any usb-plug or something - just with an onboard sound? 5) does someone have a new, explicit 10.4.4/5 solution for the alc-audiochips (mine is a alc880) 6) any broadcom 5751 news? never got it to work ------------- shuttle xp81p everything works, except broadcom 5751 (d-link g122 instead, working without the replug problem) and ati remote wonder I had MacOSX 10.4.1 version before and OS worked very bad on my hardware. Now I installed OS from pre-patched DVD 10.4.4/10.4.5 and my sytem works cool. I have 882 sound card it started to work after I patched it ( but only stereo output is working). Here instructions: Open /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/Contents/Info.plist and find the key "Realtek ALC880/ALC860 Codec Driver" Below this key there is something like this. <key>IOHDAudioCodecVendorID</key> <string>0x10ec0880 0x10ec0882</string> (add you vendor/device ID here) Pleas note that the device/vendor ID is turned around So it's Vendor ID first and Device ID second!) After this open /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleAzaliaController.kext/Contents/Info.plist Find the key "IOPCIPrimaryMatch" Now edit the string below and add your IO controller hub ID <string>0x26688086 0x27d88086</string> (The second ID is for the Intel 945 chipset) After saving the files go to \System\Library and remove Extenstions.kextcache and Extensions.mkext rm AppleHDA.kext They will be rebuild after rebooting Now reboot and you should have sound! And to boost your GPU type: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver Compositor -dict deferredUpdates 0 and enter your password. After it in XBench you will get more points. slowdiver
i tried around a few weeks with azalia half a year ago and posted it on the board. i had no real success. no mic showed up. but line-out. now i use the old 10.4.3. hda, getting line-in and out, but line out seems only to have two volume-values: sound on and off. this is very annoying. do you have line-in? can you change your sound-level? and: anyone tried to alter 10.4.5 hda-kext to work with ich6?
