jregdi
For those having trouble with USB support during (native) installs, get a $5 pci USB card...it may help! The issue is that OS X has built-in support for EHCI- and OHCI-compliant bridges (firewire and USB 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0.) I had no USB support for my K8V-MX mobo, but I DID have a cheap-@$$ Syba 1394/USB2.0 pci card in my PowerMac G3 PCI. After installing it in the K8V-MX, and moving usb keyb and mouse to this card, no problems installing! In XP, these should show up as "XXXX Openhost Controller" or something similar in Device Manager.
