After having spent one day and a half trying to get some sound on my config (MSI X48C platinum with ICH9R and Realtek ALC888) I finally found a solution. So I post it here, it might help somebody. Actually I just made a dump from the DVD version of Knoppix (DVD version 5.3.1 released on 2008.03.26) following this tutorial : http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=74937 Once the dump was made, I applied it with Taruga's HDA patcher 1.20 (available here http://www.uploading.com/files/E0ULLDWS/Ap..._v1.20.zip.html ) Everything seems to be ok (well, I did not have time to test all the ALC888 functions, but at least I now have speakers sound.
