C2D - Only One Core Recognized

Hi all,

I've installed Kalyway 10.2 via MBR onto my system. Most everything seems to work at the moment but the one issue I can't seem to have a crack at is the processor. Specs are below.

Vanilla kernel -OR- modbinkernel (same result)

E6850 Core 2 Duo

Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6

500GB SATA HDD, installed via MBR

ATI 2600XT - OOB fully recognized

System profiler acknowledges it's a Core 2 Duo at 3.00GHz

but under 'number of cores' it reads 0

Also, the Activity Monitor only recognizes ONE core.

This issue makes no sense to me. Is there a problem in the BIOS? With AHCI? I really want this to work, and I understand my MoBo is an unusual one and the problem is as well, but I don't want Leopard to only use half my system!

Any suggestions, pointers, places to start you could offer me would be extremely appreciated. I realize I'm like the Ultra-n00b, but I've been lurking here for weeks trying to find an answer to no avail. I've done Linux for years but no virtually nothing about Darwin, so I ask your mercy in this endeavor.

Thanks so much!
