empty-space
Cedega is a commercial WINE solution for running windows games in linux. From what i've seen online (and on my roommate's linux box) it works really well. What I didnt know, however, is that they still provide some source code. It's available through the CVS at Transgaming.org I would like to know if any effort has been made to compile/port this cedega code on an Intel Mac. Although the project was designed for Linux, people have succeded at getting it running on FreeBSD as well. Personally, I find WINE-based solutions for running windows apps and games FAR more appealing than dual-booting with XP. With intel mac support still unannounced by Transgaming (makers of Cedega), I think that bringing it or a similar gaming solution to the intel mac communinty would be an excellent idea. MacApprentice
It would be possible but not easy, a considerable amount of work would be needed to make it run without X Window and with native OpenGL support. I don't see that appening in the near futur. If you want to play games, dual boot with winxp, that's the easiest way Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12844-recompiling-cedega/#findComment-81601 Share on other sites

I didnt say it had to be made to run without X; the fact that apple offers X11 itself makes porting linux apps much easier.
