SigmaJohnsonChi
I haven't had any problems in the past (10.4.3, 10.4.5) with my Broadcom 440x working, but today I attempted to install the prepatched 2006-001 update (found on PirateBay). The update seemed to be successful, however, my install of 10.4.5 no longer connects to my network. Running network diagnostics only reports the inevitable: no network found. I noticed a few other posts with people having similar issues, but I never found the solution. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this error, or am I in need of a fresh install? SigmaJohnsonChi
Solution found! I found another topic with a similar problem with a different cause, however the solution was the same. For some reason the NIC was "switched off" after the update. To fix the problem, I went into the BIOS and enabled my NIC as the first device to try to boot from. Problem solved. [EDIT] In addition, you can remove the NIC from your BIOS boot list after it is working again in OSx86. I got annoyed with my computer attempting to boot from the network, so removing it from the boot list was important. Sorry for wasting space on the forum if this is common knowledge. Hopefully I can save someone else some time and agony that is having the same problem.
