MilanoRex
Okay so I finally got it working, runs pretty fast on my Celeron 2.2ghz. So I decided to install winxp on the remaining space on the drive(about 60gb) everything goes smoothly but now I can only boot into windows xp! I tried using cfdisk to set both partitions as boot but that only caused an error. Is there a way to dual boot? do i need to install grub? how do I do that? so the first partition has osx, second partition has winxp. I tried editing the boot.ini with this line: E:\chain0="Mac OS x86" and I moved the chain0 file to the E:\ root directory but that also causes an error. What can I do?? MilanoRex
I got it working with the chain0 method.. everything was working fine now it's giving me a iopccardbridge failed error on bootup. This is way more of a hassle than it's worth right now.. anyone know how to fix this? wierd because it was working just fine before. Riesenzwerg
Got the same problem. Trying to boot using grub, i'll tell if i had success! Step1: Grub not working. Step2: Marking as active: Not working. Too. Damn. What is this {censored} CardBridge?! ----------- Step 3: I had a extendet partition left. Converting it now into a primary partition. Dunno if its going to change anything. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1281-got-it-working-need-some-help-though/#findComment-8066 Share on other sites
Riesenzwerg
So after a little bit of research i found this: I am guessing that you are booting from cd? if so, you could try making a new CD with IOPCCardFamily.kext removed from /S/L/E. However, that might be tricky without another machine. Its supposed do be a darwin file, but im trying. -- So i deleted the file using MacDrive 6, and yep. Instead of the error just nothing happens. Damn. Dont really know what to do. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1281-got-it-working-need-some-help-though/#findComment-8073 Share on other sites

Mine was working fine.. all I did was get my USB mouse to work and I changed the admin name from DeadMoo to my name, that's all. Now it doesnt boot up, really weird. Riesenzwerg
No, never ever. Do you have ICQ or something like that so we just could try together? I installed using this guide and I am 100% sure i havent done anything wrong. I'm on a NX9010, NX9020 is reported to work (HCL). As soon as I shut it down and tried to log back in, it keeps giving me errors. Riesenzwerg
NX9010 reported to work, too. Damn! Have you tried deleting IOPCCardFamily.kext from System/Libary/Extensions? Do you have a pcmcia socket in first place? Riesenzwerg
Urm... maybe you have a way to disable your pcmcia via bios, i haven't. Looks like were done with it. I'm still wondering that you had it booting once...
