Scotty
The screen saver is extreamily slow. and Blender 3D won't run under Versa kernel modules. Display: Type: VGA-Compatible Controller Bus: PCI VRAM (Total): 128 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x4e4a Revision ID: 0x0000 Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded Displays: Display: Resolution: 1280 x 1024 Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported I've heard of an ATi effort to get these cards working, or something? It's an ATi Radeon 9800 XXL (Aldi modified or something I think) Any pointers on how to just get Blender working would be much appreciated, or getting it less choppy. I just need to know where to start. Thanks a lot, Kind regards Scott Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12744-ati-9800-help/ Share on other sites
domino
There's really nothing to it. Just install 10.4.4 or 10.4.5 and it will work. You first will have to download the restore dmg to iso, then download myzar's patch to patch the ISO. All the 9800 kexts are included. Scotty
Are you SURE??? That's one big download. Is there a way someone with 10.4.4 or 10.4.5 can run this up with their kext and check if my device ID is supported?
