okatu . Posted March 22, 2006 Share Posted March 22, 2006 Hy there, I have a P4 3.2HT with a MSI 865PE-Neo3 Board. I got the 10.4.3 8F1111A patched Jas v4.2b.iso DVD. Install works with no problems (S-ATA drive is fully recogniced) but when I select the drive after installation, Darwin shortly pops up and then the computer just restarts, no way to boot into 10.4.3 - anybody got an idea what went wrong here? Posted March 22, 2006 Author Share Posted March 22, 2006 Oh so many replies...jeez guys, not all on one time But I made some further progress - if I boot over the install DVD, wait for Darwin, hit F8 and load the mach_kernel manually, the system works flawless, except it wont restart nor shut-down(there it restarts)...anyone got an idea how to fix Darwin? Metrogirl Posted March 22, 2006 Share Posted March 22, 2006 Hi okatu. This is unfortunately an old problem which is probably why you didn't get any replies. The JaS DVD installs fine on lots of machines but won't start up on reboot, and it's generally related to the ATI kexts which are loaded by default in this image. There is a bunch of advice on the forum about it and if you can get into your system you can remove the kexts and cached kexts which will probably fix it. Try the search function, or if that is frustrating (I know that the forum search function isn't the best) try searching on Google, adding 'osx86project' to your search string.
