urahoho
Hello all, I am interested in installing mac os 10.5.2 on my dell 700m I have the retail mac install disc 10.5.2 that I got from my fiance's macbook. I have been looking over the forums, but can figure out how to install from this disk. Windows is already installed on the machine , but I want to make it dual boot. xp on one partition and mac on the other. I already downloaded EFI_v8 but I don't know where to go from here? Can someone help or direct me to a link that will help? Thanks!
urahoho
I am following this installation process. http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...DualBoot_10.5.2 Is there I can modify a way so I can use my 10.5.2 discs that came with my macbook then to download the Kalyway 10.5.2 dvd? If i just used my macbook discs directly would I have problems? Thanks
urahoho
ok I am installing the 10.5.2 on my 700m. On the 5th try, trying different customizations. all of them freeze with 36-40 mins left to go. I have 512 of memory think this is playing a factor? thanks
pcampisi14
Alright I can see you having a ton of issues using just the dvd that came with the macbook. Spend the time to download a proper release of OS X that will work on your Dell. There are a ton of all in one dvd's kicking around, go for a more recent release if possible. urahoho
opps. I meant to say I was using the kalyway 10.5.2 dvd not the originals anymore.
pcampisi14
Does the DVD boot? Have you backed up your data? I would'nt be installing OS X on this laptop if you need to use it everyday.
