kunfusedenuf
Hey all, I'm wondering if anyone can link me to the proper tutorial that i need to use in regards to getting an XPS M1330 working in AHCI mode in iATKOS 4i 10.5.4. I read up on Macgirl's tutorials and there was nothing that seemed to work on there. I was able to install 10.5.4 correctly except that this was only possible in ATA mode under BIOS. I also used the leo kext's for both AppleAHCIPort.kext and IOAHCIFamily.kext. and repaired permissions and restarted and changed to AHCI and i still get "still waiting for root device". could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/126886-ahci-mode-with-1054-on-m1330/ Share on other sites
kunfusedenuf
just in case anyone has this issue, I solved this specific problem just a few minutes ago. if you get the "still waiting for root device" even after updating the two Kext files from leoahci.zip. reboot and use the following boot options: "-v -f". use the following commands in terminal under safe mode UNDER AHCI: rm /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions/ kextcache -L -N -e then reboot yoru pc and you should be in AHCI mode. hope this helps.
