Qu1ck7 Posted September 19, 2008 Share Posted September 19, 2008 Here are my specs: Acer Extensa 4420, 1.8ghz a64x2, 2gb ram, 160GB hd, ATI xpress x1200. I obtained Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD Intel/AMD EFI V8. I partitioned my windows xp to 90GB and another ntfs to around 50GB. I simply put the .iso onto a dvd booted from cd and got and the long black screen with all of the i assume drivers and such on the computer runs and then stops at: Error: SCPreferencesCommitchanges()failed,Read only file system. There were also 3 errors before this that didn't stop anything: Error: No interface name Airport_Brcm43xx Error: ioPublishedDriver(allback()failed to initdevicefromservice() Error: No interface name Airport_Brcm43xx What is causing these errors? Also in the installation, there is an Add Kext to DVD folder; I have no idea what i'm supposed to do with that. I read something about loading drivers drivers or something, is that what kext is? nevermore781 Posted September 20, 2008 Share Posted September 20, 2008 i just started the exact same install on mine. got the same error's you did and then i hit enter a few times and it scrolled down a cpl lines.
