JaKKo
I'm installing osx86 on my shuttle, got the myz patched dvd out of pbay here what if done so far - reduced my NTFS partition freeing up 10 gb for osx using partition magic 8 - rebooted with patched dvd - used disk utility to initialize second partition - install procedure went fine till rebooting At this point the pc won't reboot at all I thought to reboot from floppy and run fdisk or spfdisk to get the system to reboot in xp at least, But I've forgot my shutlle does not have any floppy drive! Now I'm thinking of building a bootable cd for fixing/checking porpuses. What went wrong??? JaKKo
Keyboard is Ps2 and looking in the forum I've found out that it's a known issue, but usually it should work during install but not afterwords, in my case at the first reboot .... ouch! So I'm not able to finish the install at the moment. Any suggestion??? dualBooter
JaKKo, Do you have a USB keyboard you can use? When I did my first install, that was an issue, and I read about the PS/2 issues people were having, so I had both a PS/2 and USB keyboard plugged in at the same time, and was able to finish my first install. JaKKo
WORKED!!!! I borrowed a mac usb keyboard from a friend and managed to finish the install now running 10.4.5 natively. Thanks a lot for the hint. Next steps: dual boot and get back winxp running as well. get the network card working (now it seems not working, where I could find some network kext?) JaKKo
FIXED!! Everything works!! after going deeper in the booting CD sory I've found this Hiren boot cd that really rocks, all the tools pached with a menu. I think you can fix and boot everything it's bootable or fixable with this little cd!! My choice was acronis or pm to fix the partitions and extended fdisk to create a very simple and fast bootmanager. After post-insomnia-hysterical-Euphoria, I'm now happily triple booting two winxp and an osx 10.4.5 Now let's go for drivers and optimization Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12667-1045-patched-dvd-howto-reboot/#findComment-81172 Share on other sites
