hey guys,

From what I understand, I should be able to connect to the internet with my onboard marvell yukon network adapter, for some reason OSx wont recognise it. If it isnt possible for me to hop online with that guy I have a PCI NIC here. Which rings me to my next question. how do you install new hardware in this OS... Like I have a kext that should work with it, but how do I install it?

JFYI:havent plugged PCI NIC in yet

**EDIT** oh right aalso, my sound, my sound worked-ish during set up, but now that everythings installed its b0rk onboard

Just plug in the new hardware en reboot. If the hardware is recognised by the kernel and the extension is loaded it will make your hardware work.

If you plop in NIC based on the Realtek 8139 chip it'll work fine.

The Yukon can also work if you change the ID's in the Info.plist file from the AppleYukon.kext.

Thanks Suser, as soon as i get home tonight I'll give that a try, I'll probably be back to ask how to add that info, but i will try first.

I can't locate AppleYukon.kext

I'm using Myzars 10.4.5 disc.

also, when I said up there that I have a PCI NIC, I failed to note (and notice) that all my PCI slots are full....

any help would be appreciated
